LOW SEASON IN PARADISE
Koh Lanta is a tropical island off the Andaman Coast of Southern Thailand. It consists of several islands, the two largest of which are Koh Lanta Noi (เกาะลันตาน้อย, "Small Lanta Island") and Koh Lanta Yai (เกาะลันตาใหญ่, "Big Lanta Island").
I visited Koh Lanta many times since 2014 and fell in love with this place. In 2018 I visited the island in low season and it was empty… completely. I lived alone in the resort on the beach, and it was super creepy especially in the stormy days.

Fixing the road in low season
This year I visited a roosters fighting match, my friend named it Chicken boxing. I have no idea if is it forbidden in Thailand, but for sure gambling is illegal. Bets at this small local fight were not high, but some fights in Bangkok accumulate millions of Thai bahts & people risk a huge amount of money.
I arrived at 10 am at the backyard of my friend's house, where he keeps all his fighting roosters. A few guys were preparing them for the fight. Later we drove to a small arena somewhere in the jungle. In the first couple of hours the rooster owners negotiated about the bets. After the decision was made, two teams started preparing their roosters for the fight. Finally the fight beguns… and it lasted around 5 minutes. It wasn't really interesting and i was a little upset with the show after all this hours of waiting. Luckily both roosters stayed alive.

All photos were taken with my Leica M6 camera, Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 & Voigtländer Super-Wide Heliar 15mm f/4.5 lenses. Mostly it was taken in color, but I did a few black & white shots as well.
